New Members Events
Our new members events are short social functions held before each new major performance, such as the family pantomime or summer play.
It is not mandatory to attend these events if you would like to join, but is the perfect opportunity to get a feel for what being a member in the group is like before auditioning and making any commitment.

When is the next new members event?

How much does joining cost?
There is a small annual fee for being a member in the group with discounts available for certain people. The fee is reviewed annually and helps us cover insurance. You can find out more on our joining page.
How do I join CBTG?
To join us, you must attend a public event such as a new members event, auditions or our general meeting.
What if I have never acted before?
Most members who join are new to amateur dramatics and have never acted before. We can help you develop your skills. All you need is the drive to give it a go.
What if I am nervous?
All of our members have been in this position. The idea of performing in front of a live audience is often unnerving, but rest assured it is the journey that counts, and our membership will help you through.
Is attendance mandatory?
No. You do not need to attend our new members events if you wish to audition, although we do recommend coming along - especially if this is your first try. Auditions are often busy and fast paced, but new members events are much more intimate.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. You can bring a friend, collogue, parent, partner or anyone who might make you feel more comfortable. We do draw the line at pets!
