How to Join
You can join CBTG at any new members or auditions. We host these twice a year minimum at varying times depending on production dates.

About the group
CBTG is a charity. We do not employ anybody, and all proceeds from our membership, shows, raffles and other fundraisers all go back into keeping the group running.
During your time in the group, you will meet dozens of like-minded individuals who give up their spare time to perform. Sometimes, our members are ticking off a "bucket list" item and they join for a single season. Other times it is a passion and we have some members who have been with us for decades. Some members come and go, life can get in the way, but they come back because they enjoy the thrill of putting on a show.
Being in the group is commitment, it will take up your time and as we get closer to the show, can often be very stressful. What is certain, however, is that you are sure to make life long friends. When all is said and done, and the curtains close for the final time in your first performance, you will be itching for the next one.
We see people from all walks of life, some are unemployed, some are senior managers, some spend their life volunteering and some are just starting out on their journey in schools and colleges. There is no "one size fits all" lifestyle.
We see many newcomers who are asking the question, "is this really for me?" In reality, if you are reading this, the answer is yes. Everybody is welcome to join our group, all we ask is that you come with a smile and an open mind.

Roles for members in CBTG

Acting
The most obvious. Actors are what the audience see, they perform on stage in fancy dress to audiences of up to 224 people.
Members who act will be the front facing members of the group. This may seem unnerving, but you will not be alone, we are all in this together, and the supporting team are with you every step of the way.

Production Team
The unsung heroes, members who take up roles in the production team do most of the heavy lifting.
Front of house roles welcome our audience, manage tickets and seating and additional fundraising methods such as raffles.
Back stage roles include directing, producing, sound and lighting, costumes, make up, props, prompt and back stage management.

Committee
Group management and elected into their roles by the membership to run the group on their behalf.
The committee votes to decide how the group will run for their elected season and make important decisions such as which script we will use for the show.
Roles include chairman, secretary, membership secretary, publicity, finance and regular member.
